WHAT DOES "7TIER" MEAN?
Our most frequently asked question...and we love that!
Tiffany wanted a name that was uniquely her and held meaning. While the number "7" is a nod to the seven principles of interior design, she also chose it because it symbolized a career milestone for her: when she started the company, it marked her seventh year in the design industry.
The word "Tier" is a nod to the interior design process, highlighting the importance of the different phases and steps that are taken to execute a successful project.
7Tier is a short & sweet reflection of who we are and what we stand for in every aspect of design.
OUR CORE VALUES
At 7Tier Design, we are extremely passionate about what we do and that reflects in our process, how we work with our clients, & delivery of our designs.
We value creativity, integrity, accountability, and empathy. We believe you can't have true success without collaboration, adaptability, and inclusion. We always listen, keep an open mind, solve problems, and when necessary, we encourage our clients to think outside the box or their comfort zones if it can benefit their project, lifestyle, or well-being.
This is our recipe for great design and trustworthy, long-lasting client relationships that are both professional & personable.
MEET THE OWNER
Tiffany B. Contic
Owner & Principal Designer
Tiffany Contic founded 7Tier Design Studio, LLC in 2020 after working as a commercial & hospitality interior designer for seven years. With 11 years of industry experience, she has completed numerous projects ranging from small office renovations to large full-service hotels to luxury apartment communities. She has worked closely with architects, contractors, hotel brands - such as Hilton, IHG, and Marriott - developers, property managers, and other designers on multiple renovations and new construction projects across the country.
After losing her corporate job during the pandemic in 2020, and with the hospitality market taking a hit, Tiffany saw this an opportunity to launch her own venture and expand her talent into multifamily & residential design. While she has always had a strong passion for hospitality design, Tiffany rediscovered that same passion while working with homeowners, tailoring spaces for them that bring them joy and improve their wellbeing. Connecting with her clients on a personal, emotional level has reminded her why she was drawn to the profession in the first place: designing isn't only about beauty...it's about people and emotion.
Tiffany graduated from Kent State University in 2014, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design along with a minor in Marketing. In 2013, she was awarded an Honorable Mention Award by AIA for achievement in excellence for architectural design, and another Honorable Mention Award in 2014 by IIDA for achievement in excellence in interior design. She has held leadership positions within student and professional organizations over the years, and continues to offer mentorship and collaborate, network, and involve herself with industry professionals and organizations like IIDA, NEWH, and NKBA.
Aside from design and architecture, Tiffany frequently explores other creative industries such as photography, fashion, and music. She also enjoys writing + blogging, traveling, fine dining, movies, reading a good thriller novel, playing beach volleyball, and DIY projects. Tiffany currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA where she was born and raised. She loves spending time with her family and their two golden retrievers – Porter & Stout.
